Description

Soft and chewy salted caramel cookies with rich buttery flavor and sweet salty balance.


Ingredients

  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ¼ cup butter (for caramel)
  • ⅓ cup brown sugar (for caramel)
  • ¼ teaspoon flaky sea salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare caramel by heating butter, brown sugar, and cream until thick
  2. Whisk dry ingredients together in a bowl
  3. Cream butter and sugars until fluffy
  4. Add egg and vanilla and mix well
  5. Combine dry and wet ingredients into dough
  6. Fold in caramel gently
  7. Scoop dough onto baking sheet
  8. Bake at 350°F for 12–14 minutes
  9. Sprinkle sea salt and cool before serving

Notes
