Description

Spicy Honey Pepper Chicken with Mac and Cheese is a weeknight dinner hero that balances sweet, spicy, and comforting flavors. Juicy baked chicken is glazed with a sticky honey-garlic sauce spiked with black pepper, then served alongside creamy, cheesy macaroni. Easy to prepare in under an hour, this dish is family-friendly, satisfying, and perfect when you want bold flavor without the fuss.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Chicken:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1/2 cup pure honey

  • 1 tsp freshly ground black pepper

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (for glaze)

  • Salt, to taste

For the Mac and Cheese:

  • 2 cups elbow macaroni

  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

  • 2 cups whole milk

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter

  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour

  • Salt, to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Pat chicken dry and season with salt and pepper.

  • In a saucepan, melt 1/4 cup butter over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds. Stir in honey until smooth.

  • Place chicken in a baking dish. Pour half the honey glaze over the chicken and bake for 25–30 minutes, until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

  • Meanwhile, cook macaroni in salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  • In a saucepan, melt 2 tbsp butter. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute. Slowly whisk in milk until thickened. Stir in cheddar cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt.

  • Plate chicken, drizzle with remaining glaze, and serve with a generous scoop of mac and cheese.

Notes

Use freshly cracked black pepper for a bold, aromatic kick.

For more spice, add red pepper flakes to the glaze.

Add heavy cream or extra cheese to the mac for a richer sauce.

Check the chicken with a thermometer to avoid overcooking.

Line baking dish with foil for easier cleanup.
