Description

Spinach and Artichoke Stuffed Bread is a cheesy, savory dish that combines the creamy richness of cheese, the earthy flavor of spinach, and the tangy bite of artichokes. It’s baked in a loaf of bread, creating a perfect appetizer, snack, or side dish. Warm, gooey, and irresistible, this stuffed bread is sure to be a hit at any gathering or cozy night in.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 loaf of Italian bread or similar (ciabatta, baguette, or brioche)

  • 2 cups fresh spinach or 1 package frozen spinach

  • 1 can (14 oz) artichoke hearts, drained and chopped

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened

  • 1 ½ cups mozzarella cheese, shredded

  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese, grated

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Red pepper flakes (optional)

  • Fresh herbs like basil or parsley (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  • Cut the top off the loaf of bread and hollow out the inside, leaving about an inch around the edges.

  • Cook spinach until wilted (if using fresh), then drain any excess water. Squeeze out any moisture if using frozen spinach.

  • In a bowl, combine cream cheese, mozzarella, Parmesan, garlic, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if desired).

  • Stir in the cooked spinach and chopped artichokes until well-mixed.

  • Stuff the bread with the spinach-artichoke mixture, packing it tightly.

  • Place the top of the loaf back on or leave it off for a cheesy look.

  • Bake for 20-25 minutes until the bread is golden and the cheese is bubbly.

  • Let it cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Feel free to experiment with different types of bread like a rustic baguette or soft brioche.

  • You can add a bit of hot sauce or chopped jalapeños for extra heat.

  • If you’re making it ahead, refrigerate the stuffed bread, wrapped tightly, and bake it later.

  • This recipe is versatile, so feel free to add in additional ingredients like cooked sausage, chicken, or extra herbs.
