Description

Sweet soy marinated eggs made with garlic, onion, and a balanced soy sauce marinade. Perfect for rice bowls, ramen, or simple snacks.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 large eggs
  • 3 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 7 tablespoons water
  • 2 teaspoons granulated sugar
  • 1/4 small yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Place eggs in a saucepan and cover with cold water.
  2. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and cook 9–10 minutes.
  3. Transfer eggs to an ice bath and cool completely.
  4. Peel eggs and set aside.
  5. Whisk soy sauce, water, and sugar until dissolved.
  6. Add onion, garlic, and bell pepper to the marinade.
  7. Add eggs and submerge.
  8. Cover and refrigerate at least 4 hours or overnight.
  9. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

  1. Marinate up to 24 hours for deeper flavor.
  2. Pairs well with rice bowls and ramen.
  3. Store in the refrigerator up to 3 days.
