Description

The Caramel Apple Board is a festive, no-bake dessert platter that turns crisp apple slices, creamy caramel dip, and colourful toppings into a fun and interactive fall centrepiece. It’s customizable, visually stunning, and perfect for gatherings, potlucks, or cosy family nights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Base:

    • 4–6 medium apples (Honeycrisp, Granny Smith, or Gala – ~1–1.2 kg)

    • 2 cups (480 ml) caramel dip (store-bought or homemade)

    • 1 Tbsp (15 ml) lemon juice

    • 1/4 cup (60 ml) water

    Toppings:

    • 1/2 cup (70 g) chopped peanuts or sunflower seeds

    • 1/2 cup (90 g) mini chocolate chips

    • 1/2 cup (80 g) toffee bits

    • 1/4 cup (30 g) crushed Oreo cookies

    • 1/4 cup (20 g) shredded coconut

    • 1/4 cup (40 g) mini M&Ms

    • 1/4 cup (30 g) crushed pretzels

    • 2 Tbsp (20 g) colorful sprinkles

    Optional Goodies:

    • 1/2 cup (50 g) graham cracker pieces

    • 1/4 cup (30 g) crumbled bacon

    • Chocolate sauce or melted white chocolate for drizzling

    • Cinnamon sticks or star anise for decoration

Instructions

    • Prepare anti-browning bath: mix lemon juice with water.

    • Slice apples into 1/4-inch wedges; soak for 30 seconds, then pat dry.

    • Warm caramel dip in the microwave until smooth. Divide into 2–3 small bowls.

    • Arrange toppings in small bowls or piles around the board.

    • Place caramel bowls in the center. Fan apple slices around them.

    • Fill gaps with toppings, drizzle chocolate if desired, and add decorative garnishes.

    • Serve immediately and let guests dip, drizzle, and enjoy.

Notes

Mix apple varieties for flavor and color contrast.

Lemon-water bath prevents browning.

Balance textures: chewy toffee, crunchy pretzels, creamy caramel.

Offer nut-free or gluten-free alternatives for guests with allergies.

Decorate the board with seasonal touches like cinnamon sticks or mini pumpkins for extra flair.
