Description

Cheesy Taco Sticks are a fun, handheld twist on taco night! Made with pizza dough, seasoned ground beef, and melty cheese, these golden-baked sticks are perfect for game day, lunchboxes, or a family-friendly dinner. Dip them in salsa, guacamole, or sour cream for the ultimate bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1 packet taco seasoning mix (or homemade)

  • 2/3 cup water

  • 1 can (13.8 oz) refrigerated pizza dough

  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (or Mexican blend)

  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

  • Optional toppings: sesame seeds, parsley, taco seasoning sprinkle

  • Optional dips: salsa, guacamole, sour cream, queso

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  • Cook the beef: In a skillet over medium heat, brown ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess grease.

  • Add taco seasoning and water to the beef. Simmer for 3–5 minutes, until thickened. Let cool slightly.

  • Roll out the pizza dough into a rectangle (about 9×13 inches). Cut into 6–8 equal rectangles.

  • Fill each rectangle with a spoonful of taco meat and a generous sprinkle of shredded cheese.

  • Fold and seal: Fold dough over filling and pinch edges to seal tightly, forming a stick or log shape. Place seam-side down on the baking sheet.

  • Brush tops with egg wash and sprinkle with optional toppings.

  • Bake for 12–15 minutes or until it is golden brown and cooked through.

  • Serve warm with your favorite dips.

Notes

  • Use crescent roll dough for a flakier texture if preferred.

  • You can add jalapeños, onions, or black beans to the filling for extra flavor.

  • Make them smaller for appetizers or party snacks.

  • Store leftovers in the fridge and reheat in the oven or air fryer for best texture.
