Loaded with mozzarella, pepperoni, and marinara sauce, it’s a quick and easy meal that’s perfect for lunch, dinner, or a satisfying snack. Serve it with extra marinara for dipping!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 slices of bread (white, sourdough, or Italian)
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (or sliced)
  • ¼ cup marinara or pizza sauce (plus extra for dipping)
  • 1215 pepperoni slices
  • ¼ tsp dried oregano
  • 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
  • Red pepper flakes (optional, for spice)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Bread:

    • Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
    • Sprinkle garlic powder over the buttered sides for extra flavor.
  • Assemble the Sandwiches:

    • Place 2 slices of bread, buttered side down, on a clean surface.
    • Spread marinara sauce evenly on each slice.
    • Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese, pepperoni slices, and a dash of oregano.
    • Top with the remaining slices of bread, buttered side up.
  • Cook the Sandwiches:

    • Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-low heat.
    • Place the sandwiches in the pan and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, pressing gently with a spatula, until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
    • Sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top and remove from heat.
  • Serve & Enjoy:

    • Slice in half and serve hot with extra marinara sauce for dipping.
    • Add red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.

Notes

  • Swap pepperoni for cooked sausage, ham, or mushrooms for variety.
  • Use garlic bread for an even more intense pizza flavor.
  • Try provolone or cheddar for a twist on the classic.
