Description

Walking tacos are a fun, easy, and portable version of the classic taco. Instead of using tortillas, taco ingredients go straight into a bag of chips, making them a perfect meal for on-the-go or at a party. You get the classic taco flavors with no mess and minimal prep.

Ingredients

  • Small single-serve bags of chips (Fritos, Doritos, or tortilla chips)

  • Ground beef, shredded chicken, ground turkey, or plant-based crumbles

  • Taco seasoning

  • Shredded lettuce

  • Diced tomatoes

  • Grated cheese

  • Sour cream

  • Salsa or hot sauce

  • Optional: Jalapeños, guacamole, chopped onions, cilantro

  • Optional: Mini marshmallows, graham cracker crumbs, chopped nuts

Instructions

  • Cook your protein of choice (ground beef, chicken, etc.) with taco seasoning according to package directions.

  • While the meat is cooking, chop the toppings: lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and any other toppings you want to add.

  • Gently crush the chips in each bag before opening.

  • Open the chip bags and add a spoonful of the seasoned meat.

  • Add toppings: lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, sour cream, salsa, and any other extras.

  • Mix everything inside the bag with a fork.

  • Serve and enjoy right from the bag for a mess-free meal!

Notes

You can customize your walking tacos with any of your favorite toppings.

To make it lighter, skip the chips and use lettuce wraps instead.

For a vegetarian version, use beans or plant-based meat crumbles.
