Description

Soft and fluffy yeast donuts fried until golden and finished with chocolate glaze or sprinkles.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups warm milk
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/3 cup plus 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Milk chocolate, melted
  • White chocolate, melted
  • Sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Combine warm milk and yeast and let foam
  2. Mix in sugar, salt, egg, and butter
  3. Add flour gradually to form dough
  4. Knead until smooth and elastic
  5. Let dough rise until doubled
  6. Roll out and cut donuts
  7. Rest donuts briefly
  8. Fry until golden brown
  9. Drain and decorate

  2. Dust with powdered sugar if preferred
