In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

Gradually fold the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined (do not overmix).

Heat about 2 inches of oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).

Drop large spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil, flattening slightly with a spoon.

Fry for 2–3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.
-
Remove with a slotted spoon and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
-
-
Make the Glaze:
-
Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
-
Drizzle or dip warm fritters in the glaze and let them set for a few minutes.
-
-
Serve and Enjoy!
Notes
-
Best enjoyed warm, but they can be reheated in the oven at 300°F for a few minutes.
-
For extra crunch, add chopped nuts or raisins to the batter.
-
If you prefer a thicker glaze, reduce the milk slightly.
